Foreplay that gets her ready: the art of slowing down and where women love to be touched
· 阅读约 11 分钟 · Nicky Pimpz
Many men treat foreplay as a checkpoint on the way to "the real thing". For many women, this is the real thing.
If you’ve ever felt she wasn’t quite "there" while you were completely ready, the problem may not be her but a pace that is too fast. This article walks through research-backed foreplay, adapted for Thai and Asian women who often won’t say what they want out loud.
The 30-second version
- For many women, desire arrives along the way, not before you start. Foreplay is what switches it on
- Women who get deep kissing, manual stimulation and oral sex are clearly more likely to climax
- Research found touch on almost any part of the body can be arousing, not just the obvious places
- Golden rule: move from warm to hot, and let her body set the pace
Why do women need more time?
In 2000, Professor Rosemary Basson, a sexual medicine physician, proposed an idea that changed how the field sees women’s desire.
The old model said "desire → arousal → orgasm" in a straight line. Basson found that many women, especially in long relationships, don’t feel desire first. They start from feeling close and safe; the right touch arouses the body, and desire follows.
So foreplay isn’t an extra. It is the switch that turns her on.
Stage 0: foreplay starts outside the bedroom
Many Thai women say the same thing: the mood doesn’t start in bed, it builds all day.
- Message her during the day. Nothing dramatic, just "thinking of you" or a little tease that makes her smile. Frederick and colleagues (2018) found women whose partners sent teasing messages during the day climaxed more often
- Help around the house. Wash the dishes, put the kids to bed. A woman who isn’t thinking about unfinished chores has more room in her head for you
- Shower and brush your teeth. Thailand is hot and humid; being clean is basic courtesy, and it can become an invitation to shower together
Kissing: the first door
Wlodarski and Dunbar (2013) found women rate kissing as more important than men do, and use it to judge whether a man is right for them.
- Start slow. Lips first, softly; don’t rush in with your tongue
- Use your hands. Cradle her cheek, stroke her hair, hold the back of her neck lightly
- Pause. Pull back a little, look into her eyes, then kiss again. The waiting makes hearts beat faster
A touch map: from "warm" to "hot"
Nummenmaa and colleagues (2016) asked hundreds of people to colour in body maps showing which areas were arousing to touch. The striking result: touch on almost any part of the body can be arousing, especially from someone close. Turnbull and colleagues (2014) found a similar ranking: beyond the obvious, lips, neck, breasts and inner thighs scored highly.
The secret is to travel, not to rush
- Warm-up: hands, fingertips, arms, hair, scalp. Start on the sofa during a movie
- Warming: lips, neck, nape, ears, with kisses, warm breath and fingertips
- Hotter: collarbone, back, waist, hips; trace lightly with your fingertips to give her goosebumps
- Hottest: breasts, inner thighs and the most intimate places, when she moves towards you, not when you want to go there
Most men skip steps 1–3 and jump to step 4, yet the "almost there" feeling, again and again, is what gets her most ready.
6 foreplay techniques that work
1. Start with a massage, then let it turn into something else
Massage is part of everyday Thai life. Ask her to lie face down and massage her shoulders and back with lotion or oil. Start with a proper massage to relax her, then gradually lighten and slow your touch until massage becomes caress. She’ll notice the mood has changed.
2. Use less pressure than you think
Men often press too hard. Start very light and increase only when she responds. Fingertips tracing lightly over skin usually beat squeezing.
3. Read her body, not her words
Many Asian women are shy to say it, but their bodies say everything.
- Yes, keep going: faster breathing, soft moans, moving towards you, pulling you closer
- Try something else: going still, tensing, pulling away or unusual silence
4. Whisper questions and compliments
"Do you like this?" "Softer?" "You’re so beautiful." Short whispers don’t break the mood. Research found women who said what they liked and received compliments during sex climaxed more often.
5. Give time to what she enjoys
A survey of more than 52,000 adults found women who received deep kissing, manual stimulation and oral sex were clearly more likely to climax than those who had intercourse alone. If she’s open to it, time spent here is the best investment you can make (read next: how to help her climax).
6. When you think it’s enough, keep going a little longer
There is no right number of minutes. Every woman and every day is different. Measure by her body, not by the clock, and not by your impatience.
"What if I lose my erection during long foreplay?"
This is the hidden reason many men rush: they fear that if they wait, their body won’t cooperate when the moment comes. That worry makes them rush her and themselves, and neither enjoys it.
The fix is to relax. Erections naturally come and go during foreplay; when attention returns, the body responds. If it happens a lot, read nervous with a new partner and erection problems after 35.

FAQ
How long should foreplay last?
There is no number that is right for everyone. Watch her response: when her breathing quickens and she moves towards you and pulls you closer, that’s a better signal than any clock.
What if she’s too shy to say what she likes?
That’s normal for many Thai women. Let her choose instead of explain, "this or this?", or invite her to guide your hand rather than describe it.
She doesn’t seem in the mood even after foreplay?
There may be other causes, such as stress, lack of sleep or hormones. Read when your partner has low desire, and don’t pressure her.
Does foreplay always have to lead to sex?
No. Cuddling, kissing and touching without it always ending in bed makes her feel safe, and often makes her want closeness more often.
Summary
Great foreplay isn’t about exotic tricks. It is slowness, attention and listening to her body. Start outside the bedroom, kiss well, move from warm to hot and let her set the pace. Look after yourself, and keep Nicky9 Men as a confidence helper so you can take all the time she needs.
